Adventure is synonymous with exploring what we fear the most—the unknown. From personal growth to pushing the limits, these films define what it means to seek out the unknown and live toward adventure.

Adventure Program 2023

Adventure is synonymous with exploring what we fear the most—the unknown. The unknowns of harsh environments and within ourselves. Even those of what our future holds. For the stars of the Adventure 2023 virtual program, it’s a couple’s bold 45-day multi-sport expedition across the Arctic Archipelago in A Baffin Vacation. It’s a father putting his life at risk to standup paddleboard around mainland Britain while raising awareness of accidental drownings and breaking world records in Circumnavigate.

To one raft crew, adventure is following the 1869 route of explorer John Wesley Powell to articulate the future of water in the American West and whether the Colorado is A River Out Of Time. For 87-year-old Dale Sanders, it’s a trial of the human spirit as he attempts to reclaim the title as the oldest person to paddle the full source-to-sea on the Mississippi River. Witness how the endeavors of these paddlers and more unfold in the Adventure Program 2023.

  • The Glen Beyond

In February 2022, the British Isles were hit by three consecutive storms, some of the strongest seen in decades. In the days before the storms arrived, a group of paddlers decided to change their plans for a canoeing expedition while already en route to Scotland. Instead of paddling the exposed lochs along the west coast, they changed course, opting for a more sheltered location. A glen tucked away at the heart of the highlands.
