Filmmaker Aaron Peterson’s 10-year-old son died in 2019. He lived an adventure-filled and wise life. In 24 Leeches, his son narrates a family canoe adventure to the Slate Islands in Ontario, Canada. He reflects on camping, the changing climate of our Earth and especially his beloved Lake Superior. Part family adventure and part environmental film, 24 Leeches is also a tribute to a father’s best friend and adventure partner. “I ache to know who he would have become,” says Peterson.
